We aim to bring the F.I.R.E. Consultancy team together at least twice a year for our team days - a blend of our important team meeting/business update and social activities everyone can enjoy.

A friendly, welcoming and collaborative culture at work is extremely important to me - our people make the company what it is with the important work we do every day, so I want to make sure we’re working together as well as we possibly can.

Team building is a huge part of that, and I want to give our staff experiences and memories they’ll never forget - that’s why this June’s team trip was something quite special.

Taking off

The team arrived at the Bulgari Hotel in London’s Knightsbridge for our team meeting on Thursday 30 June 2022. We each delivered our business updates and discussed the company outlook for the rest of the year before being collected by coach in the afternoon.

Our coach took us south to Battersea’s London Heliport where we made our way to the departure lounge for a helicopter tour over the capital - definitely an unforgettable experience.

None of the team had travelled by helicopter before, so this was a step into the unknown for all of us. After a few minutes in the sky there were definitely a few slightly unsettled stomachs - including my own!

Fortunately it was nothing we couldn’t overcome and we were treated to amazing aerial views of the city - heading east towards London Bridge and Canary Wharf before flying north, taking in West Ham, Arsenal and Tottenham’s football stadiums as we went, then circling back round over Wembley and back to Battersea.

Evening socialising

After a unique experience we headed back to the hotel to take some free time, then met in the bar for some pre-meal drinks - it was great to discuss the helicopter trip with everyone, and a relief to find out that I wasn’t the only one who had started feeling a little queasy.

A brilliant day of team building was capped off with a great meal in the hotel’s restaurant before checking out the following day.

Putting on events for our staff like this is always a privilege - the importance of building those working relationships and friendships through these experiences can never be understated.

Planning for the next activity trip is now underway - we’re all looking forward to it as always.
