Structural Fire Protection Analysis
Understanding existing buildings’ structure ability to withstand fire for a duration of time can be challenging and is required where a building is a higher risk building for inclusion within the Safety Case report. This understanding can be especially challenging where the original design detail is not available. Structural Fire Engineering (SFE) uses engineering judgement assessing how a building’s structure will behave during a fire often performing engineering calculations as a desk top exercise having obtained some structural and building envelope attributes.
