Dr Khalil Khan PhD, BEng (Hons) joined F.I.R.E. Consultancy in 2026 as Head of Education and leads the development of FIRE Education. He is responsible for developing a structured professional education pathway, combining consultancy-led technical expertise with high-quality educational design to support the next generation of fire engineers.

Khalil has more than 25 years of experience spanning engineering, higher education and programme leadership. Before joining F.I.R.E. Consultancy Ltd, he held leadership roles at Swansea University, where he developed accredited education programmes, secured and managed multi-million-pound skills and innovation projects and worked closely with industry, government and regional partners.

His background in engineering, materials science and applied research provides a strong scientific foundation for his work in education. Throughout his career, he has developed programmes that combine academic rigour with practical engineering application, helping engineers build the knowledge, skills and professional judgement needed in practice.

At F.I.R.E. Consultancy, Khalil is leading the development of FIRE Education, including modular fire engineering programmes and professional learning pathways that support engineers from early career through to advanced professional practice.
